The study period of the PhD program is limited to a length of one to four years.
In addition to the thesis, students must complete at least a total of 33 credits for graduation, of which six credits are required courses, and 27 credits canbe elective courses.
The maximum number of credits that can be taken per semester for graduate courses is twelve (12) credits. If including undergraduate courses, it cannot exceed 14 credits per semester.
Students failing more than half of the total credits taken within the same academic year will be expelled from the University with the exception of students taking less than 9 credits (applicable to students enrolled since 1994 onward).
A maximum of 3 credits per semester can be taken out of the institute with a total credits not exceeding nine (9) credits.

The application of proposal hearing should be agreed by the advisor and application materials must be sent to the office within two-month period of one semester ahead of your scheduled graduation time.
Advisors for thesis can be officially filed in the second semester of first year and onward. The topic of the thesis should match that of the advisor(s) and be confirmed at the last routine faculty meeting of the institute. Application form for advisors must be obtained from the office sealed with an official institute stamp. Upon mutual agreement, changes of advisors can be filed through the office within a specified time frame.
The proposal hearing will be arranged by the office and be subject to comments from all professors and students who wish to attend.

The oral defense for master degree must be completed before the end of December if it is in the fall semester, or before the end of June if in the spring semester.
Students must submit at least one paper, with him or her as the first or correspondent author, to journals with an external review system for publication before graduation. A copy of the submission document must be sent to the office for record. In addition, students must participate at at least two conferences at other universities and submit a copy of the proof of participation to the office before graduation.
The thesis oral defense committee for master degree is consisted of three to five committee members with the Chairperson of the Institute serving as the convener and the committee members confirmed by routine faculty meetings. At least one of the committee members must be from outside the university.
Students must receive an average of all committee members’scores at least 70 points out of a hundred grading system and a majority of the committee members give a grade of 70 to be considered passing.
